A crack shot, Elworthy was a member of the Gnowangerup Rifle Club, and was a member of the VDC in Gnowangerup during WWII. Peb and Dorothy struggled on the small farm. They kept pigs and cows to supplement their income. One of the Treasure children had difficulty saying Elworthy, instead calling him ‘Peb’. He was known in Gnowangerup by this name. Peb later took on some contract farm labouring with neighbour and good friend Donald Stewart in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. His daughter May remembers him as being a hard working and meticulous person. When he passed away he had six grandsons and a granddaughter.
